Do you give yourselves a 1-stroke or a 2-stroke penalty on lost balls (instead of going back to the previous spot, which is not practical in weekend games) when you're playing in non-tournament rounds?

The game is hard enough that I think USGA should make a change to allow players to incur only a 1-stroke penalty on lost balls or out-of-bounds. And the players should be allowed to drop within the vicinity of where the balls were lost. At least for non-tournament rounds.

I'm old school when it comes to rules, meaning, one rule should apply to everybody at all times, whether tournament or casual rounds.

However, that's just me, and I understand that golf is a tough sport, but if we relax the rules, we should relax the rules for everybody else.

I'm with birdieking on this one. In basketball, there are different rules for amateurs and professionals, and I believe USGA should have two sets of rules for golfers as well, one for professionals and one for amateurs.
