Do you subscribe to any particular teacher's methods?

Something like stack and tilt? Maybe you love Hank Haney's teachings? Let's talk about it

ascdga,

That's always been my philosophy - probably why I lose so many golf balls eh?

I am swinging with a "modified" stack-and-tilt, although I'm not sure if that's accurate. I kinda start with my weight on my left foot (I'm a right-hander) then as I go through my back swing, I move my weight to my right just a tad.

I do find that it's better to limit your swing thoughts to a minimum when you're on the course, so I try to block out the mechanics when I'm playing. It's easier said than done though.

Oh well, that's why I still keep my day job.

It's my swing thought as well. Does anyone know where this saying originated from?

Swing easy with all you've got.

Swing easy doesn't mean swing slow, right?

If I recall correctly, I've read somewhere from Ernie Els himself, who's the "Big Easy", that he's swinging with all he's got. It just look "easy" because he's not rushing, but he's swinging as hard as he could.

I stay away from swing thoughts while playing. I try to ingrain everything on the range so that it's just second nature on the course.

The two things I find myself struggling with on occasion are finishing my swing (I tend to hold off a lot which causes fades for me) and making sure I dont get back on my heels when I'm swinging. I almost have to occasionally tell myself to stay on my toes (I don't necessarily want my weight on my toes, but mentally it keeps me more even).
